In his position at the performing rights organization, Malloy plays an integral role in signing and fostering the growth of some of the top songwriters and producers in the R&B, hip-hop and gospel genres, including A$AP Rocky, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Benny Blanco, Alex Da Kid, Claude Kelly, Donald Lawrence, Kierra Sheard and Makeba Riddick.

He also oversees creative programs aimed at educating and supporting songwriter activities, including showcases, workshops, panels and seminars in Los Angeles and throughout the U.S.

Malloy continues to expand his credits serving as co-producer of BMI’s annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards, which has aired on GMC (Gospel Music Channel). The award show, now titled BMI Trailblazer’s of Gospel Music Honors will air on TV One, February 19, 2016. Wardell is also executive producer of the 2013 BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Music Live project, released on eOne Music, a first by any performing rights organization.

Malloy joined BMI’s Writer/Publisher Relations department, as Associate Director, in 2002 from Universal, where he was an A&R Manager responsible for scouting writers and producers for album projects, as well as for assisting with the administration and creative aspects of album production.

Prior to Universal, he was Fashion Assistant at Source magazine. Malloy is an active board member of COCM/Harvest of Hope as well as The Kids League and was previously a member of The Recording Academy Board of Governors. Most recently, he obtained his DJ Certification from the Scratch DJ Academy. Malloy attended the Fashion Institute of Technology majoring in Advertising and Marketing.
