An alumnus of Temple University’s prestigious School of Communications and Theater, Aliya Crawford began her foray into the entertainment world in college. As a Film & Media Arts student, she wrote, produced and directed her own films as well as worked on and appeared in other independent films. She also occupied her time as a producer and reporter for the Temple’s award winning public radio station, WRTI-FM, now Temple University Public Radio.
After graduation, her career path eventually led to the independent PR firm, W&W Public Relations. Founded by Patti Webster in 1991, W&W has established itself as one of the most well respected PR agencies in the business and its areas of expertise run the gamut from music to film to television to events. As a Senior Vice President at W&W, Aliya is considered to be a valued and trusted member of the team, handling past and current publicity campaigns for world renowned clients including Patti LaBelle, Alicia Keys, Rasheed Wallace, Bow Wow, Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Chris Paul, eOne Nashville, RCA Inspiration, The Otis Redding Estate, Codeblack Entertainment and UrbanWorks Entertainment.
Aliya co-produced the feature length romantic comedy film, Computer Love and in 2005, she served as associate producer for An All-Star Tribute to Patti LaBelle, a star-studded musical salute to the living legend, which aired on UPN. In addition to several other film and television projects she is working to develop, she is also the owner and principle designer of B. Love Jewelry, a successful jewelry line.
Aliya feels that her past and current achievements are only the tip of the iceberg and plans to continue expanding her horizons in publicity, film, television, music and fashion. “I believe you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it and have faith, she says. The sky’s the limit.”
